Project Evaluation

Team Project

The group project is a major part of this course and will be worth 50% of the grades for this class. Each student will be graded individually so your individual project report is also important. The team project will be evaluated according to the following guidelines.

Technical (50%)

Correct application of automation/programming for function, convenience, and visual presentation.

  • Correct XHTML
    Separation of structure, presentation
    Correctness of hyper links
    Page download speed
    Appearance on different platforms, under different browsers
    Ease of revision and maintenance

  • Style sheet, Javascript incorporation (required) and appropriate use

  • Form and form processing incorporation (required)

  • Other CGI and DHTML features (cookies, download/upload ...) as appropriate, extra

Architecture and Organization (20%)

Does the information make sense?
Is the information architecture logical? innovative?
What kind of information is the viewer looking for on the site and is it there?
When you click on a section does is take you to where you think you should go?
Does the copy make sense?
Are three spelling, grammar errors?
Does the copy need to be edited?
Does information need to be added in order to make sense?

Design and Aesthetics (30%)

Concept/idea
Unity/diversity/balance
Any forms must be designed to fit into the site
Permutations from page to page are interesting
Achieving requirements and objectives
Consistency
Color, type, layout used effective
Overall impression
